Maya: supporting ready-made garment workers in Bangladesh
Maya is re-inventing the way people in developing countries access vetted expert advice. We are accessible through Android, iOS and Web.
The onset of COVID-19 has made the garment workers of Bangladesh more susceptible to the virus since they had resumed their work from 26th May 2020. With this backdrop, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and Maya have signed an agreement to provide free services to help prevent and limit the spread of Covid-19, while also addressing general medical and mental health related issues amongst ready-made garment (RMG) workers.
Maya is already working with factories under Primark and Marks and Spencers, providing its services to over 100,000+ workers.
Under this project, Maya is looking for-:
1) More international RMG brands to come on board with Maya
2) Partner with NGOs and INOGs working with RMG workers
3) Receive grant funding for expanding its reach and services to RMG workers, especially low-income female groups.
