Eau et Vie: Sustainable access to reliable water in Bangladesh and the Philippines

    Public / Water

Eau et Vie (E&V) thrives to ensure permanent access to reliable domestic water service in urban deprived neighbourhoods. Through the creation of local social enterprises, Eau et Vie provides piped water directly to the home of urban low-income communities at an affordable price.

To guarantee long-term impacts and social cohesion, we complement our approach with hygiene awareness, fire-fighting and emergency plans as well as community empowerment activities.

We are currently working in 22 deprived neighbourhoods in Bangladesh and the Philippines, delivering reliable water at home to 40,000 people.
To continue to innovate, expand our services and multiply our impact, we are looking for partners for the following projects:
    1. Water service expansion

Eau et Vie has the ambition to scale its model and reach financial sustainability in Bangladesh and in the Philippines in the coming years. Water access will be prioritized, along with hygiene awareness, fire-fighting and community building.
    We are especially looking for:
    a. Infrastructure grants to finance the water network investments
    b. Support on advocacy with the local authorities to open new operating areas

    2. Capitalisation on test projects (sanitation and solid waste management)

Sanitation and waste management are essential to sustainably improve the living conditions in urban deprived areas and guarantee a safer and cleaner environment for residents. This is the reason why Eau et Vie launched a solid waste management service in 2014, followed by the installation of eco-friendly latrines in 2017 in Bangladesh.
    We are especially looking for:
    a. Financial support on the service evaluation and diagnosis in order to define the next deployment steps of these complementary services
    b. Connections with research institutions and relevant experts

    3. Innovations to improve the services’ quality

Eau et Vie is using a management software to monitor its services. To improve its social enterprise performance and hence the services’ quality, new features will be incorporated in the software, such as geolocation, reporting on all the services and activities and follow-up of the water quality tests.
    We are especially looking for:
    a. Support developing a staff training programme
    b. Financial support to finance the innovations to be developed.

Let’s get in touch to explore partnership opportunities!
